The Wellington Webb Municipal Office Building is a landmark structure in the heart of downtown Denver. It houses 50 City agencies and receives public visitors all day long.
The scope of this project was to retrofit the lights in twenty conference rooms from the 2nd to 11th floors. We replaced the existing light fixtures with energy efficient LED fixtures.
The new lights will improve the energy efficiency and light quality in these frequently used rooms.
Peak View Electric worked directly with the City on this project.
Lighting retrofits can create a big mess. Unlike some electrical contractors, we take great care to keep the area protected and clean.
Here are the specific steps we took during this project:
- Marked the location of all furniture before we moved it so we could put it back in exactly the right spot.
- Covered all the furniture and equipment with plastic sheeting to protect them from the dust and debris that inevitably falls from the ceiling.
- Vacuumed the carpet carefully during cleanup.
- Took apart fixtures and recycled the metal, ballasts and fluorescent bulbs separately.
- Disposed of all our non-recyclable trash off site.
The next day, the only thing people noticed was the new lights. That’s exactly the way we want it to be.
