This project addressed potential safety issues in the boiler rooms of six older elementary schools in Denver.
The scope consisted of installing emergency power off (EPO) switches next to the doors in the boiler rooms. The purpose was to enable school staff to turn off large equipment if something were to go wrong without risking their safety.
The new switches will keep the staff and students safer. They also extend the life of the buildings by bringing them up to code.
The electrical scope comprised the majority of the project.
Peak View Electric designed the sequence of operations for the controls that will shut off multiple boilers and hot water heaters. These designs were submitted and approved by Denver Public Schools.
We then installed the EPO switches with contactors to be able to shut down all the equipment simultaneously.
